It should be noted that in 2019, in order to localize raw materials for beer production, Carlsberg Azerbaijan and Azersheker companies launched a pilot project on the cultivation of brewing barley in Azerbaijan. Samples of the first domestic barley crop for beer production were tested in the Carlsberg Group's local and regional laboratories, enabling further expansion of the project.

According to the memorandum of cooperation signed between Azersheker and Carlsberg Azerbaijan companies in November 2020, brewing barley was planted for the first time in our country. After the harvesting process of the crop grown on more than 70 hectares, it was sent for production.
