An event was held on "Modern irrigation and farming technologies that save resources"

Mobile or hybrid irrigation systems with modern irrigation technology have been used for the first time in the South Caucasus in the agricultural park of "Azersheker" Limited Liability Company (LLC) located in Jeyranchol. Application of this technology will play an important role in preventing water loss and saving water.

An event on "Modern irrigation and farming technologies that save resources" was held in the agropark of "Azersheker" LLC located in Jeyranchol in Shamkir region.

Employees of the relevant state institutions, farmers and media representatives participated in the event, which was jointly organized by IZIA, "Azersheker" LLC and "Gilan Pivot" LLC under the Ministry of Economy.

The participants of the event were informed about the advantages of applying the "Strip till" technology, as well as the advantages of the latest irrigation technology, mobile or hybrid irrigation systems. The maize field planted with this technology and cultivated with modern irrigation technologies and the barley sowing works carried out with the "Mzuri" planting technique were inspected.

It was pointed out that the advantage of "Mzuri" is that it performs 4 processes (deep softening, deep fertilizer processing, precise sowing of different types of seeds and burying of seeds with fixing wheels) at the same time. The main purpose of using this technique is to save water and fuel, preserve the fertile layer of the soil and eliminate the effects of toxic gases released into the air.

It should be noted that out of the total arable area of 4000 hectares of the agropark, 1428.6 hectares were planted with pivot, 17.2 hectares with sprinklers, and 40 hectares with drip irrigation, totaling 1485.8 hectares. This year, 421.6 hectares of sugar beet, 268 hectares of corn, 55.7 hectares of soybeans, 341.6 hectares of barley, 24.6 hectares of seed mustard and 320 hectares of food wheat were planted in the agricultural park. The average yield of wheat was 5.4 tons, a total of 1732 tons, and the average yield of barley was 5 tons, a total of 1692 tons of products were produced. Soybean productivity was 2.1 tons.

After the barley harvest, 189 hectares of land were replanted with corn. 71 people were provided with permanent and 30 people were provided seasonal jobs in the agropark.
